We are the Woodbury, NJ Chapter of the Road Runners Club of America. RRCA is the Nation's largest running group with more than 200,000 members. Our club supports running events for all ages, development of pedestrian trails through the City and Woodbury's proud tradition of Road Running and Track & Field.
Woodbury's own two-time Olympian Browning Ross was dubbed "the father of road racing in America" for his role in inspiring the formation of RRCA.
The RRCW sponsors the Benjamin-Ross Memorial 5K Run/Walk on the first Sunday in June each year and the Race Down Broad Street 5K which precedes Woodbury's Fall Festival Parade each October. The RRCW also organizes and supports the Woodbury Relays on the third Saturday of April each year.
RRCW advocates for the development of Woodbury as a runner-friendly City, including the creation of pedestrian trails throughout town, use of running-related events to draw visitors and residents to Woodbury, and for preservation and celebration of Woodbury's proud running history.
Notable Woodbury runners include:
Woodbury High School hosts the Annual Woodbury Relays Carnival, South Jersey's largest track & field meet. Founded in 1973, the Woodbury Relays award gold watches to winning relay teams in boys and girls events in Groups I-IV.
