Wounded Veteran Run Cancellation
Hi everyone. we are sorry to bring the news that our event, Wounded Veteran Run, will not go on as scheduled this year. We know this has become a Memorial Day tradition for many of you and we are distraught at the idea that we can’t celebrate our tenth year together. We sure hope things will be back to normal by Memorial Day but in the meantime we can’t guarantee our supplies will get delivered or that the ban on gatherings will be lifted. We would hate to waste valuable dollars trying for an event that may not be allowed to be held at all. Additionally- we want to keep our supporters healthy.
We do encourage you to keep the spirit of Wounded Veteran Run alive by doing your own run/walk/bike/crawl (whatever you're capable of!) on Memorial Day to honor our fallen. Wear an old Wounded Veteran Run shirt, or anything red, white, or blue, and send us your pictures!* Just be sure to stay 6 feet away from others :)
*Any pictures received may be used by Wounded Veteran Run in future media/promo. Please send pictures to courtney@woundedveteranrun.org
Thank you for your support- Sincerely, Wounded Veteran Run Board of Directors

Description
Wounded Veteran Run is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization inspired by the daily perseverance and dedication of our nations combat wounded service members. Our goal is to raise awareness and donations for veteran supporting nonprofits and implement programs to support and thank veterans within our community.
Starting in 2011, Wounded Veteran Run was created by a local personal trainer as a way to promote physical fitness while simultaneously paying honor to her brother who was severely injured while serving in Afghanistan on 14 July 2010. While spending time with her brother at Walter Reed Hospital she came in contact with many other wounded veterans and wanted to find a way to help support all of our injured troops. An annual 10K, 5K, and 3K running/walking event on Memorial Day seemed like the perfect solution.
