Description

Welcome to the second swim in our Fresh Start Swim Series, which will take place in the gorgeous state park that is Honeymoon Island. We will be offering the  the 2 mile, the 4 mile, and the 8 mile. Swimmers attempting the 8mile will do the circumference of Honeymoon Island, while the 2mile, and 4mile swims will take place somewhere along the island. I know crazy right, to have a swim planned and not know the course, but thats part of the fun of open water. The course will be decided the week of based on tides and we will send an email to competitors so they know exactly what they are getting into. PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR EMAILS AS THE RACE APPROACHES, we will be sending out vital information. This race is a fundraising event, there are no deferrals or refunds for any reason, all funds go to race expenses and then directly to the non-profits, you may change events on the same day but we do not refund money for switching to a less expensive race.

KAYAK RENTAL INFORMATION:

Swimmers can rent a kayak directly through Sandy Feet Kayaking. All swimmers have to do is text Mary Jo Jimmy at 727-200-3142. Let her know your name, race distance, and which event you need the kayak for and it will get delivered to the start the morning of the race. Kayaks are booked directly through her and are not part of race registration. Kayakers can be rented for hire during race registration.

If you are from out of town and need a kayaker - we now have access to paddlers who can assist you. When registering, select the add on for a kayaker. Most of our kayakers will have their own gear so you will probably not have to rent a kayak as well, in the event that a kayaker does not have their own gear, you will be responsible for renting the kayak. Make sure the Kayaker identifies you as their swimmer when they register, ALL KAYAKERS MUST REGISTER TO SUPPORT THEIR SWIMMERS.

Solo Swimmers- Swimmers are allowed to rest on the kayak to access nutrition or to rest if they need it, as long as the kayak is not making forward progress.

There will be no relay categories as of 3/8/22 no one has signed up for relays and it is too late to order awards for relays. Thanks for understanding.
