Description
The Fitness Field Day & Tug-of-War is a new event to Kick off Mental Health Awareness month. To be held at Eisenhower Park in Milford, set up by Walks with Buddy, Inc a local non-profit that raises awareness for Mental Health & Suicide Prevention. In coordination with Alexander Jordan Jamieson Foundation another organization that helps with providing Musical instruments and lessons to those struggling.
The Fitness Field Day is held with old time Field Day relays with stations going up the Story Board Walk in Eisenhower park. The Tug-of-War portion is another portion of the event. The entire event is being created by Walks with Buddy, Inc, Strong as Kell fitness, Alexander Jordan Jamieson Foundation, Milford Prevention Council and numerous volunteers, as it works together to break the stigma around Mental Health Challenges. There will be Vendors, Live Music, Yoga, Tai Chi, Food Trucks and more to be experienced.
The Fitness Field Day & Tug of War is a community event.

1. What is the purpose of the Fitness Field Day & Tug-of-War event?
The purpose is to bring people together for a fun, inner child event. In doing this the hope is to raise more awareness around Mental Health Challenges and break stigmas that come along with them.

Event is on May 5th, 2024 from 9 am to 3 pm. Eisenhower Park in Milford

4. How does the event raise awareness for mental health and suicide prevention?
Fitness is one way to help those who may be struggling, Fun Activities can help bring inner child to front. Yoga, Tai Chi, and other mindfulness activities.
5. What activities will be available during the Fitness Field Day?
There is the Relay Fitness course that you and your team can participate in. Hoppity Horse, Egg-walk and other things leading into the Story Board Walk of Stations.
6. Can anyone participate in the Tug-of-War portion of the event?
Enter your team of 10 members for a round robin type elimination.
7. Will there be any live music performances at the event?
There will be Live Music with Alexander Jordan Jamieson Foundation students, The Navels, & Jukebox Radio
8. Are there any age restrictions for participating in the event?
Registration is 18 or older for regular Fitness field Day. 12 and older for Family Fitness Day portion. Minors must be accompanied by parent at all times while at the event.
9. Will there be food available at the event? If so, what options will be provided?
Food Trucks will be at the event, Silver Sands Pizza, Louise's, & Papa's !!
10. Can local vendors participate in the event? If so, how can they get involved?

11. Is there an entrance fee or registration required to attend the event?
Yes, for the Fitness Field Day & Tug of War portion. Vendors, Live Music and more free

13. How can individuals support or donate to the participating organizations?
There is a donation button on event registration. Volunteers welcome and there will be tables set up.
14. What is the Story Board Walk in Eisenhower Park?
The Story Board Walk is a path at Eisenhower Park, that has a story attached to 31 boards along the way. It will be used to have the Fitness stations of the Relay portion of the event.
15. Will there be any specific rules or guidelines for participating in the Fitness Field Day activities?
There will be guidelines for the Fitness Field Day portion, It is a 4 person team activity for teams. Family Fitness section can be 2 to 5 people.
16. Can I bring my own yoga mat or do I need to bring my own equipment for the activities?
Yoga mats are recommended for the Yoga class. Other than that nothing is required.
17. Is there a schedule or itinerary available for the event?
Will be posted – The basic is Fitness Field Day portion is 9 to 11:30 and Tug of War from 12 to 1:30. Live Music at 12:30ish, Vendors open at 9, Yoga with Traci Weber from WalkAboutYoga at 10 am!
18. Are pets allowed at the Fitness Field Day & Tug-of-War event?
Pets are allowed at Eisenhower Park on Leash, Please refrain from bringing them to the event portion.
19. Will there be restrooms and water stations available at the event?

Yes, you can bring whatever you want, NO Alcohol is permitted

Milford Prevention council will have activities and information on their table!

24. Is there parking available at Eisenhower Park? If so, is there a fee?
Plenty of parking and there is no fee.
25. Can I participate in both the Fitness Field Day and the Tug-of-War portion of the event?
Yes, you can register for both
26. Will there be any merchandise or souvenirs available for purchase at the event?
T-shirt for the event will be available as well as Alexander Jordan Jamieson Foundation & Walks with Buddy, Inc clothing.
27. Are there any limitations on the number of participants for the Fitness Field Day activities?
4 person teams for the Fitness Field Day portion and 10 person team for the Tug-of War. Family Fitness Section 2 to 5 persons teams. Solo or two people teams will not be discouraged.
28. What should I wear and bring with me to the event?
Wear fitness clothes for you will be moving and sweating.
