Description
The French Creek Valley Conservancy Summer Sojourn event will be Saturday, June 15, 2024.
Registration is $25 per person. All participants must be pre-registered. Only 50 paddlers will be permitted. *All paddlers must wear a life jacket and carry a whistle. All paddlers must be age 12 and older. All minors must be accompanied by an adult.
We have a great day of French Creek fun planned! Paddlers will start at Cochranton at a private launch and stop at Custaloga Town Boy Scout Camp for lunch and education stations. Following lunch, paddlers will continue to French Creek Farms in Utica to take out. This 9 mile paddle normally averages a 3-4-hour paddle time straight through.
Participants will drop boats at Cochranton and take their vehicles to French Creek Farms in Utica. A bus will be provided to take DRIVERS back to Cochranton.
T-shirts for the event must be preordered and prepaid before May 20th at $14 each. * You can pick up your pre-ordered t-shirt at registration!
Schedule:
8:00 – 9:00--Check in at the Cochranton launch site. (Private residence). Park in the Church lot at 3993 E Church St, Cochranton, PA 16314 to drop off boats.
*DRIVERS take vehicles to French Creek Farms -- 1976 Grant St, Utica, PA 16362
Shuttle 8:30 am depart French Creek Farms; 8:45am arrive at Cochranton launch site.
Second and LAST shuttle 9:10 am depart French Creek Farms; 9:25 am arrive at launch site.
9:00 am —First Safety briefing and paddlers get on water.
9:25- Second and last safety briefing, paddlers get on water.
12:00-1:00—Lunch and Education Station at Custaloga Town Boy Scout Camp.
1:00-4:00--Continue paddle to Utica. Take out.
