Test your endurance in the 750m out-and-back sprint, where flat water makes it ideal for newcomers and anyone looking to dip their paddle into water sports for the first time. For those craving a bigger challenge, tackle the long-distance 7-mile race along one of the most stunning stretches of the South Fork of the Shenandoah River. Fees
C1, C2, and K1 Fees
- Super early registration $50 per person until December 31, 2024.
- Early registration $55 per person until January 31, 2025.
- Regular registration $60 per person until February 28, 2025.
- Late registration $65 per person until close at midnight on March 28, 2025.
Tube Challenge Fees
- Super early registration $20 per person until December 31, 2024.
- Early registration $25 per person until January 31, 2025.
- Regular registration $30 per person until February 28, 2025.
- Late registration $35 per person until close at midnight on March 28, 2025.
Vendor Spots
- $150 for 12’ x 12’ until December 31, 2024
- $200 for 12’ x 12’ through event date.
Registration platform fees also apply.
The Paddle
Boats will be provided as part of your entry. C1 and C2 will get one canoe. K1 will get a kayak. Canoes will come with single-blade paddles. Kayaks will come with double-bladed paddles. PFDs will also be supplied. No outside canoes or kayaks are permitted. Outside paddles and PFDs are permitted. Canoes, paddles, and PFDs will be located at the canoe put-in. You will not need to portage the canoe for any great distance, and you will not need to carry your paddle gear for any distance. Shuttle service will be available between the finish at Eastham Park in Front Royal and the put-in locations at Karo Landing. Parking is limited at the Karo Landing put-in location.
All water is Class I or II. There is no water safety on the course. EMS personnel will be available at the finish.
While paddling each racer must have:
- PFD Class III
- Kayak or canoe
- Whistle
Tube Challenge
The tube challenge will remain a secret until race week. Expect to be carrying, floating, moving, and playing with river tubes as part of the challenge. The team tube challenge will require all four members to work together to be victorious.
Volunteers
The heart of a great event is its volunteers. If you have a passion for helping out and are interested in volunteering, we'd love to have you join the fun! Volunteer signup will be available closer to the race date.
Food
Food trucks will be on hand to provide delicious bites and refreshments.
Supported Organization
A portion of the proceeds from this event will go to help support The Warren Heritage Society who had the goal of preserving, protecting, and promoting the history of Warren County and Front Royal, Virginia. Established in 1971, Warren Heritage Society is located at 101 Chester Street in downtown Front Royal, Virginia, amidst the scenic Shenandoah Valley.
Their mission is to preserve and share our community’s rich history through museum exhibits, archives, and educational programs. You can explore their Gift Shop and Book Store, offering a diverse array of local history, traditions, and crafts. Begin your journey in our Laura Virginia Hale Archives, your source for tickets to historic home tours, archives research, and more.
