SoPro's Pinebelt Brew-Ways - Leaf River Paddle Cleanup

Join SoPro (Southern Prohibition Brewing) for a special Earth Day celebration event in partnership with the Piney Woods Conservation Group, Pinebelt Blueways, Kinda Gritty, Visit Hattiesburg and Keep Hattiesburg Beautiful!  On Earth Day 2024, we'll be hosting a paddle cleanup event on the Leaf River where participants will not only be able to enjoy a paddle on this beautiful river just outside Downtown Hattiesburg, but they'll leave it a little better than they found it by removing any litter encountered along the river!

     - Monday, April 22, 2024
     - 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
     - Upper Leaf River paddle - Church Street boat ramp in Jones County to Hwy. 11 boat ramp outside Chain Park in Downtown Hattiesburg (11 total river miles)

Registration/staging and an initial cleanup of the Church Street boat ramp will happen at 10 a.m., then we'll hit the river!  More info on parking and staging takeout vehicles/shuttles will be provided via email after registration. 

All participants will be required to register and complete the online waiver through Runsignup, and early registration is highly recommended to confirm we have enough kayaks/canoes and gear for all participants (if needed).  Buckets, grabbers and trash bags will be provided, as will water.  We recommend participants bring the following:

     - Sunscreen
     - Snacks
     - Drinks (other than water)
     - Swimwear / comfortable water shoes
     - Towel
     - Good attitude!
