About Miggy's Gift
Our Mission Statement:
At Miggy's Gift we aim to save lives by educating children and young adults on sun safety, skin cancer prevention, and the importance of early detection. We visit colleges, schools, after school programs, summer camps, and health fairs with Dermatology health professionals, who share an age appropriate power point presentation with the kids. Through this initiative we donate shirts with UPF protection, hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, sunscreen dispensers, sunglasses, and lip balm.
We provide financial and emotional support to families with a child or young adult going through cancer. This includes granting wishes, donating custom gift baskets for patients, donating gift cards to help the family with expenses, visit oncology pediatric units in local hospitals with an arts and craft party or magic shows.
In 2018 we established the Stephen "Miggy" Chavez Scholarship at Miami Dade College for students attending the MDC Miami Animation Gaming International Complex (MAGIC). To date, we have granted 11 scholarships totaling over $20,000 in scholarship funds.
