2nd Annual New Years Eve 5K To Benefit The Fort Myers Beach Woman's Club

Tue December 31, 2024 Fort Myers Beach, FL 33931 US Directions

Race Day Schedule & Arriving and Parking Details

Please read the information below to help you with your travel to FMB race morning:

We suggest everyone come to Fort Myers Beach early for the race on Sunday. Parking will be an issue with well over 600 registrations for the event. Registration opens at 6:30AM which is plenty of time to pick up your shirt and bib, in the DiamondHead Resort ballroom, and warm-up for your run or walk.

The race begins at 8AM. What we do not suggest is wasting a lot of time driving around looking for the best spot. Please do not park on side streets, on the beach in the sand, in front of a private residence or in any unauthorized area. There will be NO PARKING in the DiamondHead parking lot due the resort being sold out.

HERE’S WHERE TO PARK….
– There is an overflow parking lot, with a limited number of spots, across the street from the resort that is free. We will be using that lot until full.

– We have been given permission to use the following lots (where parking will be free)
— TriPower building parking lot across the street from the resort (only until the race is over).
— The former Tuckaway Cafe parking lot which is past the resort and across the street (only until the race is over).
— The Neptune Resort parking lot, which is past DiamondHead on the same side of Estero (only until the race is over).

The town-owned Palm Avenue parking lot is immediately adjacent to DiamondHead. Spaces are $5.00 per hour.

Island Carts FMB will be providing free golf cart shuttle service from the bus stop by La Ola in Times Square to DiamondHead from 6AM to 8AM. Times Square to DiamondHead is less than 1/2 mile. It’s perfect warm-up run, or, flag down one of the golf carts.
— Lynn Hall Park is $2.00 per hour. Park and walk over to Times Square bus stop for the golf cart ride.
— Old San Carlos and under the Matanzas Pass Bridge are all town-owned spaces and are $5.00 per hour. Park and walk over to Times Square for the cart ride.
— Lee County owns the free parking lot on the other side of the Matanzas Pass Bridge if you are really ambitious and want to warm up with a bridge run.
— Margaritaville has public parking: $10 for 0-3 hours and day parking for $25 (up to 8 hours).
— Norm’s Beach Parking lot is $20 for the day.
— There is a lot on Crescent Street near where Ray’s Pizza used to be for $20 for the day.

There are other paid lots on Estero Boulevard that you may choose to park in and jump on a golf cart to get to DiamondHead.

Carts will not be running after the race. However, the free tram will be running if you’d rather not walk back to your vehicle after you win your medal.
