EVENT OVERVIEW:
6 Mile & 10 Mile Saturday, January 4, 2025 8:30 AM At Dismal Swamp Canal Trail, Rest Stop at mile post 4, Chesapeake
10 Mile & 15 Mile Saturday, January 25, 2025 8:30AM At Fort Monroe
12 Mile & 20 Mile Saturday, February 22, 2025 8:30 AM At Dismal Swamp Canal Trail, Rest stop at Mile Post 4, Chesapeake
Race Courses:
Jan. 4th & February 22nd begin and finish at the entrance to the Dismal Swamp Canal Trail, Rest Stop at mile post 4, Chesapeake, VA 23323 and will be an out & back. Start will be a chip start with everyone starting at 8:30. January 25th, will be at Ft Monroe, Hampton VA 23651 and will be two or three 5-mile loops around the fort’s waterfronts. Finish line closure is based for each race date on a 15 minute per mile. Early starts for walkers for Distance Series 3 may be arranged by jphelanrun@gmail.com
After Race Parties:
Post race party for January 4th and February 22nd will be at Tap It Local, 648 Grassfield Pkwy, #12, Chesapeake. January 25th party will be at the Paradise Ocean Club, 490 Fenwick Road, Ft. Monroe, VA 23651
Directions:
Dismal Swamp Canal Trail:, Trail Start, Old Route 17 and George Washington Hwy, Chesapeake, VA 23323 just off Rt 17. GPS tracking is Rest Stop at Mile Post 4, Chesapeake, VA. Ft Monroe is located in Hampton at 490 Fenwick Dr., Ft Monroe, VA 23651 & is an open (non-military) venue.
Inclement Weather: The Race Director and the Tidewater Striders reserve the right to cancel or reschedule or adjust distances as needed in the interest of safety or access restrictions to the venue.
Registration closes at 11:59 PM the Friday before each event. You may pick up your race number & giveaway starting at 7:15 race morning. We will be at Running Etc., Hilltop Location the Friday before each event starting at 4:00 to 6:00PM.
