Description
The 2nd annual Kettle Falls SUP Cup, on June 4, 2023, is an all-levels paddle board race with Recreation and Competitive divisions. Registration includes a race packet and t-shirt. There will be a post-event gathering for all participants, friends, and families with awards for the top finishers in each division. See the KF SUP Cup Facebook page for more information about check-in, parking, race day info, camping options, etc.
The recreation race route is approximately 3 miles, beginning and ending at the Rickey Point day-use area on Lake Roosevelt. Participants will leave Rickey Point Beach to paddle north to Colville Flats, turn toward the Colville River, turn around Buoy 1, return to Rickey Point Beach, and cross the finish line.
The competitive race is approximately 4.5-mile, beginning and ending at Rickey Point Beach on Lake Roosevelt. The route will follow the same recreation route to Buoy 1, then proceed approximately 0.5 miles up the Colville River, turn at Buoy 2, continue 0.7 miles toward Lions Island/Old Kettle to Buoy 3, then head directly back to Rickey Point to cross the finish line.
Participants need to bring their own SUP gear, including a PFD (required in Washington State).
The race caps a weekend full of events and festivities at Kettle Falls Town & Country Days.
